The Great Escape
February 7, 2006

Grandson Campbell has been attempting to get out of his crib lately and today, at 16 months, while he was supposed to be napping, succeeded and got into everything in our bedroom until attracting attention by making the bedroom doorstop spring go sproing..... sproing.....

Campbell was just getting started and took off running to find things in the kitchen to get into as soon as the bedroom door was opened.

But there was nothing within reach to  get into in the kitchen, except things Campbell was allowed to, so......

off to the love birds to hopefully find a way into their cage this time, so he can play with them.
But the cage still needs more thought, so.............

...... he moved on to the TV remote control to see if he could snatch it before being stopped, this time!

(1) Must get into papa's chair,  (2) check for who may be watching,  (3) lie in wait until no one is watching, (4) then move quickly and grab the remote before anyone can stop me, and (5) then sit back, turn on the TV, and flip through channels like a real man!

With nothing interesting found on TV he moved quickly on to the recycle bin with empty pop cans that can be used to make LOTS OF NOISE!.
And then on to.......

............ Papa's computer where he was quickly rerouted (by Papa) to.........

............ Nana's computer for some web surfing.

It was hard to find the right keys to press, until.......

remembering what he had forgotten to do.

This is better, ........

pull out the keyboard........

and I'm all set.

But I almost forgot........

the most important thing........

you need a mouse for serious work!

Sometimes Nana hides her mouse from me........

But I can always find it!

Now this is a very interesting site.

Oh! Oh!, I think I hear Nana coming........

Being home alone with Campbell made this a good photo opportunity.

BUT giving him the freedom to explore a bit.....

and do some things Nana doesn't allow.....

was perhaps not the best idea.....,

Because later.......
Campbell did NOT want to get into his jumperoo which he has always enjoyed,
but can't get out of................ YET!

Dirty Trick! This is no way to treat a guy that just figured out how to escape from his crib.

I AM NOT a Jolly Jumperoo.... I AM A MAD Jumperoo! GET ME OUT OF HERE......
I WANT MY CRIB......... that I can get out of......... until I can figure this
!@#% jumper thing out!

Nothing Helps................

Not pushing with my left foot..... right foot....... or both feet at once!
Maybe....... if I can reach this box....... Darn!!!  It got away

Update April 10, 2006

Oh Oh!
How do I get out of here now?

Sylvia left after lunch to run errands while Campbell napped and assured me he wouldn't be awake for an hour or so. I knew I wouldn't be that lucky but didn't expect it would only be minutes before he was up and out of his crib heading for the phone, TV remote and everything else he wasn't supposed to touch. He played along each time I put him down for his nap, but as soon as he thought I wasn't looking he would be up again. But after the 8th or 9th time I had had enough................

Let's see him
get out of his crib now!
